According to the AUTISM AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES MONITORING (ADDM) NETWORK, For the first time, the percentage of 8-year-old Black, Hispanic, and Asian or Pacific Islander (A/ PI) children identified with ASD was higher than among 8-year-old White children, which was the opposite of previously observed racial and ethnic differences across the ADDM Network. While this new pattern could indicate overall improvements in equitable identification of ASD, it is essential to consider other factors that may be leading to higher rates of ASD in historically underserved populations.

How can you help us?

Please help us to promote early identification efforts in underserved communities to lower the age when our children are first evaluated for developmental concerns, diagnosed with ASD, and enrolled in community-based support systems.

Volunteer and help us plan for community events that help us provide resources and service needs.

Help us implement ways to target outreach to under-identified groups of children,
such as black and Hispanic children. -
Please help us identify programs for 18+ with Autism who are often left out of

By bringing more awareness of services provided in Nevada to minority families and encouraging participation.

By helping I AM to serve as a vehicle to help parents become self-advocates, as well as practice self-care

Helping I AM achieve our goal of creating a satellite facility for parents in North Las Vegas to break the barrier of not having access to apply for services provided in Nevada.
